Reptile Vet Services

Reptile Veterinary Services:

Did you know that our exotic pets can contract all the same types of disease as humans? Unfortunately, when they get sick, giving them a box of Kleenex probably won't help much. Having your reptile examined on a routine schedule is  the best way for us to recognize the current health or potential future problems of your pet, so we can help them feel better quickly. Mild behavior changes can turn into big problems fast, and since reptiles are great at hiding health problems, regular examinations are essential.

It’s critical to your reptile’s health and happiness that they live in an environment with appropriate lighting, set up specifically to meet the needs of the species. During your pet’s exam, we’ll be happy to discuss its’ current living space arrangements and provide recommendations to help you achieve the best set up to avoid any problems.

Many reptiles get sick due to a poor diet. Each species has its own special diet, and often does not receive the required amount of nutrients needed to maintain proper health, which could lead to Metabolic Bone Disease. It is extremely important to not let the reptile choose its own food for this very reason. We offer recommendations on diets and have mineral and nutritional supplements for reptiles to help prevent any nutritional-related diseases. Contact us today to schedule an appointment.

Avian vet services

Avian Veterinary Services:

Birds are usually pretty good at hiding their sickness, so it’s important for the pet owner to pay attention to their behavior. Some common indicators that your pet bird may not be feeling well include a change in appetite or water consumption, or noticeable difference in droppings (wetness, light beige or green) or appearance (fluffed up, less talkative). With birds, time is of the essence when they require medical assistance. That's why it's extremely important that your feathered companion comes in twice a year for checkups so we can keep them healthy and happy!

Just got a new pet bird?

You should isolate any new birds from an existing flock until you they have been tested for diseases, to prevent them from possibly infecting others. Contact us today to schedule an avian examination.

  • Nebulization therapy
  • Bird Sexing

Pocket Pet Vet Services

Pocket Pets:

Although small animals like hamsters, guinea pigs, and ferrets may not require much outdoor exercise, they still have the potential to get diseases.

Respiratory (breathing) problems are very common, and also very dangerous since it is through their sense of smell that they can tell where their food and friends are. If you notice your pocket pet experiencing any loss of appetite, diarrhea, trouble breathing, or hiding from other pets in its living space, they may be sick. And if they live with a colony of other pocket pets, there is a significant chance that they may also be infected, which may require that the entire colony be treated for the same illness.
